1.6.2011: Bay Ridge showcases energy efficiency.
The new Bay Ridge community is starting to take shape with energy efficient designs the yardstick of homes at the estate.
Local Broulee builder Andrew Busse is building a display home at Bay Ridge and says that while NSW Government regulations mandate a 5 star energy rating for new homes, his benchmark is much higher. "Our minimum standard is 6 star, but really my goal with any of the homes we build is 10 star" he says.
"If you are serious about saving costs and about protecting yourself against environmental extremities like the heat and cold, then the higher the star rating you can achieve the better. And frankly, with the way energy costs are skyrocketing, achieving maximum energy efficiency will soon become essential."
5.1.2011: Bay Ridge: lots with lots of appeal.
Only 10 lots are left in the first stage of the new Bay Ridge community, with local buyers keen to take advantage of its
proximity to town as well as NSW government stamp duty and first homeowner incentives. Michael Skuse from IJ Hooker Bateman's Bay says the area
is proving popular with those already living on the coast as well as residents interested in re-locating from Canberra and Sydney.
"It is set in a beautiful bush area, it's just five minutes walk from Batemans Bay, it's close to shops, services and beaches, so really the location can't be beaten," he says. "And now that construction has started in earnest at Bay Ridge, you can really see how the area is starting to take shape."
31.10.2009: Display Home now open.
